Community Guidelines

Our promise

Lit Lounge is for readers who want to talk about books with other readers. We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive behavior. Reports are reviewed and acted on within 24 hours.

Not allowed

• Harassment, hate speech, or threats targeting any person or group.
• Sexual content involving minors, or any content that sexualizes minors.
• Graphic violence, gore, or content that glorifies self-harm.
• Spam, scams, malware, or off-topic promotion.
• Impersonating other people or misrepresenting your identity.
• Sharing other people's personal information without consent.
• Illegal content or anything that violates intellectual property rights.

What happens when you report

Every post, comment, club, reading list, and member profile has a Report control. Reports go to our moderators, who review and act within 24 hours. Outcomes range from a warning to permanent removal of the content and account. You'll be notified when action is taken on something you reported.

Blocking

You can block any member at any time from their profile. Blocked members can't see your posts, message you, or interact with your clubs or lists. Blocks are private — the other person isn't notified.

Account actions

Repeated or severe violations result in permanent removal from Lit Lounge. We may also remove content that doesn't violate these guidelines if it's harmful to the community.
